Forever and ever I’ve always wanted to see this done, now it exists I want it so badly!

A real Myst book

This is a project I’ve been working on for six years - a replica linking book from the video game Myst.

Inside the book is a full desktop computer, completely self-contained without any external wires or hardware. In the above photo, the embedded screen isn’t just showing a still photo or a video: it’s running a full copy of real Myst PC edition. On board is a copy of all the Myst games. It’s fast enough it plays all of them smoothly (even End of Ages at ~30fps). You play the games by touching the touch-screen.

This place may as well be the stair case to my own person heaven, there is no gaming shop in the world I want to visit more than Super Potato.

Konami Reveals New Metal Gear Solid Game!!!

Today in Tokyo, Konami showed off its brand new, Fox Engine. The engine’s demo ran footage of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes on a PC, but was designed with the PS3 and the Xbox 360 in mind.

What’s more, this is not tech demo. This is an upcoming, new, open-world game.

“This announcement is a challenge from Kojima Productions to the world,” said Hideo Kojima.

The footage showed off how the engine can handle weather (here, rain) as well as clothing textures and lighting.

In the demo, Snake crawled to avoid the searchlights. After a quick stealth kill, he hopped in a jeep and called in a helicopter for evac. The concept behind Ground Zeroes is that this is a “Game without Game Over”. So even if a player is discovered in this stealth title, the part where the game would usually end (their discovery) turns into their escape. It sounds like Kojima Productions is adding a new spin on the sneaking genre—a genre the developer is a master of.

“Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere… Wow,” tweeted game localizer Mark MacDonald of 8-4.

The Fox Engine, however, isn’t only for current gen. Konami is positioning the Fox Engine for both Cloud gaming and next gen consoles.
