The Nintendo PlayStation We Never Got To Play…
The first PlayStation 1 controllers looked silly. No wonder the world never got to use them.
The world never got to use this first PlayStation from 1991. A Sony produced SNES, it was the fruit of what was an unsuccessful failed Nintendo partnership.
The other prototypes were Sony’s own original PlayStation designs for hardware it planned to release. Note the “PowerStation” concept art.
Sony finally released the PlayStation 1 in late 1994 in Japan. A worldwide release followed in 1995.

‘MotokoCityScape’- By John C. Haddock (2006)
This is a painting I did way back in 2006. It’s based on the DVD cover for the original ‘Ghost in the Shell’ movie. It’s was made using acrylic paints on stretched canvas. It’s not the best in the world but I do wonder what it would be like if I did it now after all the new stuff I’ve learned after the last 5 years.

Akira gets a Biker Jacket. It costs £590! (or $900 American)
To celebrate Akira’s 30th anniversary, Bandai Namco is releasing a replica of the cow-hide leather jacket worn by Akira protagonist Kaneda.
There’s also a black version, which is based on Kaneda’s jacket. It reads “2019 A.D. 28 Neo Tokyo”, with the number 28 referring to Kaneda’s test research number.
It costs ¥69,800, which is a little over £590 or US$900. The jacket comes in sizes that go up to XXXL! Jacket and will ship from Jan. 2012.
Leather pants, boots, gloves, and thin Japanese man and his Bike are not included.
